Want to make a face mask at home?

In this tutorial, you will learn how to make 4 styles of face masks at home.

This is a comparison video of existing tutorials from FABRIC PATCH and CRICUT (apologies for pronouncing Cricut wrong in this video)

Both companies have Free download patterns, which I have collected in the below link.

I choose these two companies out of the search of 43,600,000 Face mask tutorials search results. Because these masks are very quick and easy to make, with clear instructions for beginners to advance to follow.

But most importantly they are fashionable.

Also note, that you still must maintain the health and safety regulations surrounding Covic 19, including social distances and washing hands. Wearing a mask will not exempt you from these responsibilities.

Tools needed for Mask 1 from Cricut

  • Cricut NO-SEW pattern here

  • Printer : One pattern to cut on fold, two pieces

  • Or draw a rectangle, width of 16cm, depth of 17cm, start of ear from fold is 10cm, ear width 5cm, distance between ear opening is 8cm. Curve the bottom in a smooth curve.

  • Top layer: Slinky Polyester jersey fabric

  • Under layer: 100% Cotton jersey fabric

  • Fabric scissors

  • UK GOV Pattern measurements here

  • 100% Cotton / Ankara fabric ( Best place to buy is in London Liverpool st. / Middlesex street)

  • Fabric scissors

  • Ruler or tape measure

  • Pins

  • Chalk / chalk pen

  • 3mm Round Elastic Cord buy here

  • TIP: You can make fabric ties instead of buying elastic.

Tools needed for Mask 3 from Circut

Circut Face mask pattern here

  • Printer : print pattern Adult size SD/MD piece 1 on page 1

  • Top layer: Polyester fabric

  • Under layer: 100% Cotton

  • Fabric scissors

  • Pins

  • Unpicker / seam riper - optional

  • Chalk / chalk pen

  • 3mm Round Elastic Cord buy here

TIP: You can also use hair band for elastic to go over your ears instead.

Tools needed for Mask 4 from Fabric patch

  • Printer: Get the pattern here. In order to select your right pattern. Measure from the center of your nose bridge to the start of your ear. The same direction of your glasses. Sizes are in inches and I choose 5.5 inch.

  • Main fabric: 100% Cotton / Ankara ( Best place to buy is in London Liverpool st. / Middlesex street)

  • Inner layer: Nylon / water-resistant fabric

  • Fabric scissors

  • Pins

  • Chalk/chalk pen

TIP: Use table cloth as a water-resistant fabric
