Trapeze dress

What to pack when it’s over 35 Celsius!

Traveling to Israel for a much needed annual leave and spiritual revival. Feeling excited but at the same time much to do before the trip. Why do I pack so last minute and find out that I just don’t have suitable clothes for the expected heat?

If you can’t find what you want, make it! It saves money, time and it’s more sustainable.

I am glad that on this occasion, I had patterns of my previous dress that I could copy to make another dress in a lightweight fabric.

Tip

If there is a garment you like, trace over the shape in dotted or plain paper and transfer it unto your chosen fabric. It saves so much of my time. I love my yellow trapeze dress but wanted to make it without the peplum due to the border print fabric. So I copied the outline of the yellow dress and transferred it to the new fabric with a facing. Both the dresses come with side pockets to create extra storage during travels.

Also quickly made a square top, as there were places that we went to that needed the shoulders covered. A square fabric, stitched at sides and shoulder seam, to look like a top.

In the end, I enjoyed the lightness of both garments and was able to wear it sleeveless and cover up with a light weighed tank top.

All in all a successful and lovely trip ;)
