What to do with your old clothes?
My dilemma is I have lots of lovely items in my wardrobe, however, don’t wear often due to it being occasion wear.
I had two garments that I haven’t worn for over 5 years, as I just didn’t want to give or throw away. Especially when it has been customized for a particular event. One was the bridesmaid dress that no longer fits me and another is a traditional African print that just doesn’t suit everyday wear. I am now at this stage of my life where I want to look effortlessly chic and be comfortable. I love the fabric, just no longer feeling the styles.
The solution is up-cycling, which is really becoming more fashionable as throwaway fashion is becoming more frowned upon. It’s all about making clothing last, quality products, make do and mend, vintage / 2nd hand or up-cycled fashion.
