How to Upcycle Denim Jeans into a Skirt

What to do with old or not well-fitted denim jeans?

I bought these denim jeans and as usual, it’s too short and tight on me. Also if there is no elastane in the fabric comp, then it’s almost certainly not going to fit well around me. The only thing that prevents me from giving it to charity, is that the color and wash effect is great. Therefore to wear it, I changed it into a skirt.

1. Unpick inseams, leave outseam intact.

2. Overlap the inseams on front and back at the top.

Only overlap this slightly, the higher the split the more movement you will have to walk.

3. Split at CB

However, you can also change to have split at front. The length has been reduced but hem left intact.

Tip: The bigger the size, the looser the fit. If you go up a size or two, then you are able to do more things.
